QHS // Health Screening Clinics

QHS screening/clinic include a variety of early detection and prevention programs that review risk factors and provide prevention recommendations.

Important: Please be advised that these clinics should be used as a screening tool provided for health education and awareness.

1. Cholesterol

With a simple finger prick, the Total Blood Cholesterol test provides individuals with information about the risk factors associated with cholesterol, the cause and effect of cholesterol, individual prevention tips and more.

  2. Osteoporosis

This non-invasive ultrasound screening analyzes and measures bone density. The heel bone is used because its composition is quite similar in density to the bone found in the hip, where most osteoporotic fractures occur.

3. Sun Damage Awareness

Using a sophisticated UV detection camera, the QHS Sun Damage Awareness clinic identifies the sun damage that has already occurred. The QHS health professional then provides individual risk assessments and specific information on sunscreens and prevention tips.

  5. Body Composition

Using a sophisticated hand held analyzer, this non-invasive test uses mild electrical current which allows the QHS healthcare professional to be able to identify body fat percentage and fat free mass (FFM).

6. Cardiovascular Health

This informative education day is designed to create a greater awareness about heart disease risk factors and what the numbers mean in relation to cholesterol, blood pressure, pulse, blood sugar and body fat. One of our health professionals will assist individuals with a personalized questionnaire, screenings, and use of valuable teaching aids.

  7. Influenza

Influenza is one of the major causes of illness and absenteeism among working adults. The flu vaccine is the most effective measure to prevent influenza. QHS offers vaccination clinics at a variety of locations and we can arrange to have QHS nurses travel to your organization to administer the vaccination.

8. Diabetes Program A

Type II Diabetes, also known as Adult Onset Diabetes, is becoming more prevalent everyday. This program identifies individual risk factors and prevention tips for the development of Type II Diabetes complete with a blood glucose test.

  9. Diabetes Program B

This program is designed for diabetics. The focus is on a healthy diet, managing insulin levels and medication regimes. A blood glucose test is also included in this clinic.

10. Colorectal Health Program

Colorectal cancer is one of the most common cancers in both men and women. It is 90% curable if detected and treated early. Using a simple-to-perform test for in-vitro qualitative detection of occult blood in the stool, this screening provides individuals with an early indicator of various gastrointestinal bleeding disorders.

  11. Happy Healthy Foot Day

In this clinic, the QHS health professional will utilize our FootPrint tool to assess foot conditions and ailments. With these assessments, appropriate health teaching will be applied relating to foot health. However, the best part is the 5-minute foot massage!

12. Breast Cancer Awareness

Using breast props, this screening is an excellent hands-on approach, teaching women the proper techniques to perform regular self-examination and the importance of early detection.

  13. Understanding Menopause & Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT)

This clinic was designed for women to get a better understanding of their body and menopause. Included in this screening is a personalized screening questionnaire, information on both the benefits and risks of HRT and non-hormonal symptom relief tips.

14. Asthma

New Asthma clinic using a compact hand held Spirometry system, helps the asthmatic track their lung function. Individuals will also receive a printout of their screening results along with educational material on asthma.

  15. Head Lice

This interactive clinic with a QHS professional will focus on educating the individual on how to detect head lice, learn about the signs and symptoms, treatment, and prevention of head lice.

16. Smoking Cessation

Designed to help individuals quit smoking, this clinic will help to further the individuals understanding of why they smoke, and assist them to choose the method of quitting that is right for them.

  17. Managing Stress

This interactive clinic with a QHS professional will focus on educating the individual on identify signs of stress, and learn about the signs and symptoms, treatment, and prevention of burnout and depression.

18. Know Your Numbers

This clinic was designed to give an overview of the individuals health status. The QHS health professional measures cholesterol levels, blood pressure, Body Mass Index (BMI) and blood sugar levels. Clinic participants learn about the risk factors and how they can affect the results of these measurements.
